Totally built out of wood, the SAVRUGA is an idea diving safari boat with
great character and charm. A nice sundeck partially shadowed where you can
relax between dives. A welcoming and smiling crew offer fresh drink at any
time and prepared excellent food, Maldivian style, essentially base on
fish.
Seven double cabins (matrimonial or stacking beds) comfortable and
equipped with air conditioning. Each cabin has separate toilet and shower
facilities waiting for you during those restful moments in the calm of a
lagoon.
A nice and spacious common dining room is at divers’ disposal for any
games or books in between lunch time and dives. This inner room will
protect divers from any bad meteorological conditions.
The boat will anchor in calm lagoons for all nights to prevent any

DIVING THE MALDIVES
Diving is possible all year round as water temperature stays between 27°C
and 29°C. Except for the sunbath we don’t’ have good or bad season for
diving. The boat will change itinerary according to current and plankton.
Visibility is not always good especially if divers want to observe big
fishes such as Mantas, whale sharks or grey reef sharks, visibility can
also change from one day to another. Almost every dive is a drift dive and
very of ten in a channel, we jump from the Dhoni at the entry point then
do our dive with the current. At the end of the dive the Dhoni take us
without any need to swim against the current. diving is possible all year
round as we have no bad season.
To join our diving safari in the Maldives, diver must have a minimum of 30
dives logged and if possible be certified level 2 (CMAS, NAUI, PADI or
others). Diving regulation is, since these last years, very strict and do
not allowed to dive deeper than 30 meters for advanced diver and 20 meters
for beginners. On the Dhoni, we have 30 aluminium cylinders (DIN/INT) 12
litres, 1 Bauer compressor Mariner 320 l/min., each dive must have its
personal equipment which stay on the Dhoni during the whole safari. We
fill also cylinders on the Dhoni to avoid any disturbance during that
period.
Security equipment : safety kit, 50 litres oxygen cylinder, recompression
chamber on Bandos island.
Insurance : each participant must have its own insurance, however we
recommend and we offer a DAN diver insurance valid during your stay.
Several itinerary are offered depending on the season, meteorological
conditions and safari’s duration, 1 weeks or 2 weeks. Those are related to
currents and information we have from last dives, this is to try to
guarantee the best possible dives of the moment.
